Whitney Smith
About

Hi, I'm Whitney

I'm Whitney Smith—a mom of two, a woman in recovery, and the host of Pretty Sober Chaos.

For years, I was doing everyday mom life while constantly calculating pills. How many did I have? When could I take another? How was I going to get more? The amount of math involved was frankly offensive.

I've been sober since June 4, 2024. Suboxone has been part of my recovery, and I talk about it openly. I spent too long knowing exactly what pills were in my purse while knowing very little about the help available to me.

“Opioid addiction is a full-time job with a terrible benefits package.”
“You can't choose an option you've never been given.”

These days

These days, I'm raising kids, coaching soccer, rebuilding my life, and voluntarily giving myself a microphone. A bold decision for someone with my vocabulary.

I created Pretty Sober Chaos because I want to hear the parts of people's stories that don't fit into a quick introduction. The person who lived through addiction. The nurse who cared for them. The family member who's still processing what happened.

We can talk about shame, treatment, relationships, and starting over. We can also laugh when something is funny. Both things are allowed in the same conversation.

Come as you are. Tell me what you wish people understood.

And yes, you can fucking swear.

What listeners can expect

01

Honest conversations with people who've lived it, loved someone through it, or worked alongside it.

02

Room for motherhood, relationships, shame, rebuilding trust, treatment, identity, and learning to enjoy life again.

03

Compassion, humor, and the whole story—no stereotypes required.

A quick note

Whitney is a host and recovery advocate, not a clinician or treatment provider. Pretty Sober Chaos is for conversation and understanding, not medical advice. If you're in crisis, please reach out to a professional or your local emergency services.
